Recently renovated to take advantage of its historic and culturally significant location, the Mauna Lani Hotel features expansive exterior grounds and interior spaces with modern touches and “savage” plantscape.

The beachfront property includes 15 acres of highly manicured landscape and 5 acres of turf, 515 trees and palms, and more than 200 interior plants. A significant element of the property is the natural and re-created Kalahuipua’a fishponds—brackish pools that are fed and cleansed by freshwater springs and the tidal action of the sea. Their thriving aquatic life (including sea turtles) is central to the property’s history and appeal.

Our maintenance program at the Mauna Lani is comprehensive, including the immediate hotel grounds as well as ground-level suites and five private residences. Within the hotel itself, amenity spaces such as the luxury spa, adult and family pools and spas, private cabanas, Surf Shack, HA Bar, CanoeHouse & Halani restaurants require diverse yet strict maintenance schedules that maintain the luxury appeal and do not disturb guests.

To that end, the team has also adapted scheduling around high- and low-volume seasons and hours, and investments in electric equipment and golf-course-quality mowers.
